What Are The Characteristics Of Granite

Granite is also known as magmatic rock, and its main mineral components are quartz, feldspar and mica, which is a kind of full-crystalline natural rock. According to the size of crystal grain, granite can be divided into many types, such as fine-grained, medium-grained, coarse-grained and porphyritic. The color and luster of granite are determined by feldspar, mica and dark minerals, usually gray, yellow or dark red. The high-quality granite has uniform texture, compact structure, high content of quartz and low content of mica, free of harmful impurities, bright feldspar luster and no weathering.
Granite has good hardness, strong compressive strength, small porosity, low water absorption, fast heat conduction, good wear resistance, high durability, frost resistance, acid resistance, corrosion resistance, and weathering resistance. Its surface is flat and smooth, its edges and corners are neat, its color is strong, its color is stable and generous, and its general service life can reach decades or even hundreds of years. It is a relatively high-grade decorative material.
According to the different processing methods, natural granite products can be divided into axe cutting plate, machine planing plate, rough grinding plate and polished plate.
(1) Chop the axe board. The surface of the stone is processed by hand chopping an axe, and the surface is rough, with rough texture and regular stripe axe pattern.
(2) Machine planed board. The surface of the stone is planed mechanically, with smooth surface, fine texture and parallel planed and cut lines.
(3) Roughly grind the plate. The stone surface is rough ground, smooth but matt.
(4) Polish the plate. The stone surface is polished and polished, with smooth and bright surface, colorful color and clear granite crystal texture.
